Regarding enquiries from Mr Botchway, Mr Smith and Ms Otunuga. Please be informed that the IYC USA Chapter is very active. @Ms Otunuga, you are indeed welcome to join the chapter. The USA Chapter offers huge possibilities for your very interesting engagements. For other  information on Executives, the Secretariat as well as other policy information kindly refer to the URL: www.iycusa.com. Thanking you for your understanding.

Who are our executives?

Comment by Logan Andrew Smith on July 16, 2013 at 7:34pm
Hmm, I really say that we need to have an executive council meeting because the structure is a little off and needs a formal, published, written governing document... we also need a formal HQ. That's what we really need!

Adeola, i believe we have a problem. It seems we are not as well organised as the other chapters (at least from first look). Who is/are our chapter leaders. We need to get some shape and structure into it. Let me know what you all think.

Hello All,

I trust everyone is having a great week so far.Since my acceptance into this esteemed group, I have been trying to find my best fit and stance.

Pros: I have a keen passion to advocate for the rights of children, women and families.

Where do I start? What subgroup can I join within the IYC (USA and/or global)?

Any advise or idea?

Thank guys!!!

Rapporteurs for the IYC Working Group on Development, Environment, Agriculture, Governance & Democracy

Hi Everyone

The Working Group on Development, Environment, Agriculture, Governance & Democracy of the Global Issues Department of the International Youth Council (IYC) will commence the second Phase of its sitting in August. Our aim is to proffer recommendations which will reflect health, environmental management, education, food availability and solutions for hunger and reducing poverty, politics, macroeconomics, youth development, science and engineering, all aimed at  helping countries meet up with envisions of the UN Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) and the Post-2015 Development Agenda.

The recommendations will be made available in the official IYC Policy Journal. The journal serves as a reference point to consultants of the UN, its specialized agencies as well as a host of other agencies and countries all over the world.

If you are interested in serving as a Rapporteur and member of this Working Group, please send me a short 250-word letter of intent, describing your areas of interest (specific areas where you wish your contribution could make impact). Deadline for submission is July 31, 2013.

I look forward to hearing from you!!

The Working Group on Development, Environment, Agriculture, Democracy & Governance of the Global Issues Department of the IYC has finally concluded its sitting and come up with very viable recommendations.

These recommendations include the following:

(1)   Natural Resources Dividends Give-Back Macroeconomic Strategy for Global Socio-economic Development;

(2)   Entrepreneurship Development in countries (especially Third World Countries) as a viable means of Achieving Economic Growth & Development;

(3)   Information and Communications Technology Strategy for Third World Countries;

(4)   Global Ozone Production Plant.

The recommendations have since been submitted to the IYC secretariat for review. Later this year, we intend finally submitting same to the UN SG and representatives of Member states at the UN. The recommendations reflect the world we envisage. Our intent through them has always been to create a blue-print, which are malleable strategies, for helping countries meet up with their UN Millennium Development Goals (MDG) and post-2015 Development agenda envisions.

Working Group 3 of the Global Issues Department is preparing for the submition of our recommendations this July to the UN Secretary General and representatives of Member states at the UN. Our intention is to become an authoritative Partner with the UN in its post 2015 agenda on Sustainable development and a think-tank for solutions for Global Issues as it relates to Development, Environment, Agriculture, Democracy& Governance. We are indeed glad that we have come up with very stricking recommendations which if implemented will indeed create positive impacts in our world.
