My name is Ali Usman Muhammad hailed from Yobe State northeastern Nigeria where Boko Haram deadly terrorist organization is operating.
I founded a volunteer youth based non profit organization based in that area from 2014 that's call Y. A. L. S acronym of youth Awareness And Literacy For Self-reliance.
Y. A. L. S is youth based organization that it's aim to give an awareness and training on youths to be self reliance.
Through organizing workshop, seminar and educational tutorials especially on the area of science, technology and entrepreneuship .
Y. A. L. S is a network and mobilisation of over 500 individuals with diversity from different profession ranging from Lawyers, Lectures, Teachers, students and programmers
Y. A. L. S believe that qualitative education is the only panacea to our problems, so we are dedicated in given training to the youths which can ultimately curb the menace of youth radicalisation by the terrorist group (Boko Haram) ,Because their target members has always been unemployed Youth and financially vulnerable individuals in the society.
Furthermore, Y. A. L. S has been working in collaboration with other local NGOs on enlighting, educating people on the course of starting business for self reliance among youths which happened to be the key players in the terrorist group.
What motivated me start this incredible movement was in 2013 when I was in senior high school written our final exams.
The school is a boarding school which is called GSS Mamudo in potiskum Yobe State .
Once fateful night on 6 July 2013 Boko Haram members attacked our school in while we were sleeping in the night,
We heard bomb explosion and shootings from another hostel.
I quickly woke up and start running as I luckily moved to the garden of the school lying on the ground to avoid been touched by the bullet.
At that very moment the school was full of screaming and crying, fear overtook me then I try to escaped from the garden then I heard two members of the attackers were approaching
I thought they were coming to check the garden if students were hide in it.
Fortunately they sat under a mango tree which I climbed up for fear of their own attack.
What I heard they were saying Was The main facilitator and motivator for starting this movement.
One was saying to another "if not because we're unemployed and broke we would have not follow our Ameer (Leader) to this operation.
But thank God we escaped we would not be involved in the killings of these people."
Soon later they left,
In the morning after I stepped down from the tree I began to see the death body of my colleagues including two of my best friends whom we lived in the same dominatory
On that night they succeded in killing more than forty two(42) students and 3 teachers who live in the school qoaters.
Since from that time I put in my mind that one day I will start something that would prevent young people from joining this group.
Then I came up with Y.A.L.S
