VOLUNTARISM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME

Dear Friends,

It gives me immense pleasure to announce that Jaago Yuva Abhiyan(Wake up Youth Campaign)Bihar has initiated a Volunteer Mobilisation Programme in the name of VOLUNTARISM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME in Bihar. This is a first ever and first of its kind programme in the state that mobilizes, encourages, train and engage youth volunteers in developmental works carried on by Govt. as well as Non Govt organizations.

As you are aware the culture of volunteering is as old as our civilization. But with the passage of time, the concept of volunteering as an ex-pression of Human Compassion had been influenced and guided by current socio-economic fabrics of the society. Volunteering for development and peace has been greatly affected by the consumerism today and need to be rebuilt.

JYA thus seek to revive this great Indian culture of volunteering through this VOLUNTARISM DEVELOPMENT PROGRAMME . The objective of this programme for the time being are-

1- To promote and cherish Voluntarism among youth as a virtue.

2- To engage youth in community service and nation building.

3- To meet the requirement of GO and NGOs for volunteers for
developmental activities.

4- To promote a sense of pride and self respect among youth.

5- To promote national Integration.

6- To give plateform in social sector for the students of
social subjects like R.D,L.S.W,M.S.W,Womens Studies,N.G.O
Mgt e.t.c.

7- To create Leadership among Youth for the social development
as their duty.

JYA is in the process of creating a pool of young trained and untrained volunteers with diverge resources and expertise who would volunteer their time and expertise for a specific period and a specific purpose which is dearer to their heart.

These volunteers shall be enrolled, classified and trained by JYA and placed in different institutions and organizations or at the field as per the requirement of host organisationas without compromising the interest areas of the volunteers too.

We believe that such initiative shall be supported and encouraged by all concerned for development of the state and nation.

NOTE-JAAGO YUVA ABHIYAN(WAKE UP YOUTH CAMPAIGN)BIHAR is a social campaign conducted For the Youth,By the Youth and Of the Youths which advocates the integrated development of the youths and attainment of the Goals of MDGs till the year 2015.The efforts of JYA for the Rights of Youths are praiseworthy.VIJETA SAMAJ n.g.o is the coordinating Organisation of this Campaign and this Youth Network.
RESPONCES WILL ENCOURAGE US.
