THINK – EAT – SAVE . REDUCE YOUR FOODPRINT

While millions of people starve everyday across the world , at least one third of all the food produced gets wasted in the supply chain process. This is such a shame and stopping this wastage can be one of the key aspects of moving towards sustainability.

To create awareness about this major issue , UNEP  has launched its “THINK-EAT-SAVE. REDUCE YOUR FOODPRINT” campaign.

UAE CHAPTER CHAIRPERSON ELECTED AS UNEP'S GLOBAL COORDINATOR FOR CHILDREN AND YOUTH

It was a momentous occasion when I was elected as one of the Global Coordinators of UNEP's Major Groups for Children and Youth. I took charge of my new position as the Global Coordinator during the Annual Meeting of the Major Groups Facilitating Committee.

16th MEETING OF THE CONFERENCE OF THE PARTIES ( COP16 )

The CITES wildlife summit is ongoing in Bangkok from 3rd to the 14th of March.  CITES  which is the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora is an international agreement between governments which aims to ensure survival of species by preventing their decimation or extinction  by regulating international trade in specimens of wild animals and plants .

World Future Energy Summit - a report

The World Future Energy Summit 2013 was a much bigger event than the one held a year earlier.

The opening ceremony of WFES2013 saw eminent speakers such as the French President , the Argentinian President and Queen Rania of Jordan who all spoke eloquently on the theme.

IYC UAE in "CLEAN UP THE WORLD" CAMPAIGN

IYC UAE members recently took part in the "Clean Up The World" campaign in Dubai . Organised and supervised by Dubai Municipality, IYC UAE members were given an area around Dubai's busiest metro station to clean. For several hours, the youth enthusiatically collected the trash and litter thrown by unmindful commuters and put these in the special bags given by the municipality. IYC UAE chapter leader at COP18

The United Nations Conference on Climate Change held in Doha , Qatar sought to urgently revive the Kyoto Protocol. Known as COP18 , this mega conference brought thousands of activists , political leaders , negotiators to the magnificent venue - the Qatar National Convention Centre ( QNCC ) .
