For nearly 100 Hours- every 8 minutes or less, I felt 'a celebrity once again' as I hit the massive screens in Times Square, New York as a ‘Youth from U.A.E’.
My picture was up from 9th August until midnight 12th August –The International Youth Day.
In pursuit to celebrate International Youth Day 12th August, I chose to describe our generation in three words as-
This initiative of MTV Voices wanted to show the world what being a young person is really all about and best of all, Youth from around the world were chosen to take lead and ‘Make their Voices Heard’.
I was also announced the winner by Youth Employment Network for the International ‘You’ day contest and as a Prize I won a smart phone along with one year of personal coaching for myself

A loving daughter, a high school student and only 14 years of age; Simran’s achievements from being the Olympic Torch bearer at London Olympics 2012, to being twice the winner of both prestigious Hamdan Award and Sharjah Educational Award in UAE inspired her further to work on grass-root level projects locally and receive several awards & recognition by Dubai Municipality, DEWA, Ministry of Environment and Water, Emirates Environmental Group recently. Receiving honor as the Best Ambassador by TUNZA Eco Generation for the 9th term, representing the Global Youth Board Plant-for-the-Planet for 2013-2014 and becoming the Earth Charter Youth Group-SynergY for the month are some milestone Global recognition’s for her work in 2013.
